The Writing section will remain the same, with 2 tasks taking a total of 50 minutes. The test will still be scored on a 0–30 scale for each section, and 0–120 for the total score.
This new feature combines your best scores for each section from all of your valid TOEFL iBT scores in the last 2 years. Everyone has a bad day once in a while, and MyBest scores give you a way to show your best overall test performance. The best news? You don’t have to do anything to take advantage of this feature. All TOEFL iBT score reports sent after August 1, 2019, regardless of the test administration date, will automatically include MyBest scores along with the traditional scores from your selected test date, like this:
Now you can get your TOEFL iBT scores even faster! Scores are posted online approximately 6 days after the test date, instead of 10 days. The PDF version of the score report is available to download within 8 days after your test. Score reports are also mailed to you (if you requested a paper copy) and sent to your selected institutions or agencies within 11 days after the test date.
The new TOEFL iBT Free Practice test lets you become familiar with the test format and question types. It features a full test with all 4 sections and real past test questions. You can view correct answers in the Reading and Listening sections, listen to sample Speaking responses, and read sample Writing responses.

Convenient afternoon sessions have been added to select test dates, making it easier to find a seat and test time that works for you!
The required waiting period between TOEFL iBT tests has been reduced from 12 days to 3 days, which allows testing on consecutive weekends, as available dates permit. This can give you more opportunities to test and help you meet urgent deadlines. You can still test as many times as you wish.
